Toyota Repair: throwout bearing, retaining clips, ken ken

Question
94 toyota p/u trk. standard transmission, 22r engine I am replacing the clutch and I need to remove the throwout bearing. I cannot get it to come out. Do I need a tool or is there something you can tell me to help remove. Thanks Ken

Answer
Ken,
The release bearing can be removed by using a screwdriver to unhook and detach the retaining spring from the pivot stud, then remove the
retaining clips.

The pilot bearing can be removed with a puller. It also can be removed by packing grease in the hole and behind it then insert
a round shaft slightly smaller then the opening and lightly tap on
it this will force the grease backwards and behind the bearing and
the pressure will push the bearing out.
