Hi I have 1996 camry 2.2 liter the problem is half the time my car fires right up and the other it clicks multiple times before firing its a brand new battery how likely do you think its the starter

That does sound like the starter needs to be replaced. The problem is that every time your car "clicks" and does not start, it floods the engine due to the "cold start injector". Before you replace the starter, check the condition of the battery terminals and cables.
