Toyota Repair: 1992 Toyota Camry V-6, spark plug wires, coolant leak

Question
QUESTION: I have had this 1992 Camry V-6 for about 2 years and it has ran Great, until a two weeks ago, it started to make a noise like the serpentine belt was slipping and sqealling, then a week later I was traveling down the highway and the Engine shuts off and Heavy smoke boils out from the top and bottom and sides of the car, and then Anti-freeze was spewing out everywhere. The car will not crank and acts as if it "Jumped Time". Could you give me an answer to what might be the problem? Thanks for your time, Shannon

ANSWER: It sounds like the engine overheated which may have caused some engine damage, does the engine turn over when in the start position? If the engine does not turn over it may have seized due to overheating but if the engine turns over but does not fire up then there is another electrical or mechanical problem.

QUESTION: It never over-heated, according to the gauge it just stalled and the Smoke boil out from under the body, both bottom sides of the car, and from under the hood. Anti-freeze & water was all over the engine, hood & all underneath the car.

Answer
There is a coolant leak somewhere under the hood, I would advise not to drive it anymore until the leak is located and repaired, the leak could be from the radiator or possibly a coolant hose or maybe even the water pump, with the engine cooled off try pouring some plain water into the radiator and see where the water is leaking out, if the leak is not obvious then it may be necessary to have the cooling system pressure tested to see where the leak is, the reason that it's not starting may be because the coolant got all over the engine which could short out the distributor and spark plug wires, removing the distributor cap and drying the inside and drying out the wires etc may let it start again.
