Toyota Repair: Toyota Scion 2005 XB, tick tick, powertrain warranty

Question
There is a whine/noise when car is steered right or left. I notice it mainly at very slow speed as when pulling out of my driveway or out of a parking spot. The power steering fluid seems to be OK. The vehicle has 38,000 plus miles.

Not sure if it's related but there is an annoying "tick-tick" sound coincident with tire rotation coming from the left front (driver's side) while moving.

I would recommend contacting the toyota dealer because it sounds like there is a problem with the power steering system which is covered under the powertrain warranty, the ticking noise may be a foreign object thaty is stuck in the tire, maybe a nail.
