Toyota Repair: Problem shifting gears, toyota celica, shifting gears

Question
I have a 1995 Toyota Celica with a 5 speed manual transmission.  It has approx. 105,000 miles on the car.  Sometimes it's hard to shift the gears; it wants to stay in neutral and I have to really push to get it in gear.  Can you point me as to what may wrong and what I should ask/listen for from a repair shop?

Answer
Sandra,
If its not the slave cylinder, to test this; with the engine running
and it in neutral put your foot on the brake, pump the clutch pedal,
push it in and out all the way at least 30 times. Now try driving and
shifting. If it works ok then the slave cylinder is bad. If not then
the linkage is binding or loose fittings, this is under the console.
