Toyota Repair: 85 toyota camry a/c light flashing, blowing warm, toyota camry, newer cars

Question
Need some help in finding where to start with warm a/c. Only info I can find is on newer cars.  Worked good earlier in the year.  I understand that it could be many things: relay, electromatic clutch coil, sensors, amplifiers, condensor, low freon  turning off and on doesn't help.  Air blows good just not even cool. The flashing starts immediately. 1985 w/standard transmission 176,000miles no a/c filter.  Also wondering if it is the "refrigerant" (freon) is there a replacement for a 23 year old car?  appreciate any help

Answer
Pat,
I can't guess without looking at and testing the car with gauges.
You need to find a professional to hook up gauges and determine the problem. Normally when A/C doesn't work it's low on freon, that
means it's leaking out. When the problem is solved then the thing
to do is convert the system to 134a freon.
