Toyota Repair: Toyota slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch pedal

Question
Hi,

      I was wondering if you knew why the person I bought my 90 4Runner off of said he sometimes has problems getting the truck into gear, especially reverse. He said he bleeds the cylinder? or something and it fixes it for awhile. Does that sound right? Normal and just replace the slave cylinder?

Answer
Reese,
The first thing I want you to do is;
make sure the the clutch master cylinder is up to
the max mark. When its hard to get it into gear, as its
idling in neutral put your right foot on the brake
and with your left foot push the clutch pedal to the floor
and back out at least 30 times. Now try and put it into the
gears. If it goes in the gears ok, replace the slave.

Let me know the outcome,

Tim
