Toyota Repair: a/c heater controls proble, automatic climate control, fuse block

Question
QUESTION: Ted,

My 02 highlander suffered from the dreaded wire breaking on the heat temp knob.  Had that re-soldered, and the heat works now.  However, the a/c does not, nor does the clock, re-cycle air button, rear defogger button or the passenger air bag light.  Additionally, the vent select button is stuck on the defrost(can change it, but it only blows defrost).  It has got to be a fuse???? But the owners manual does not list what fuse number for the clock?

Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Kevin

Answer
The problem may be more than just one fuse, there is one fuse block under the hood and one inside under the lower left of the dash under the cover, with the key in the on position check each fuse with a testlamp, check both sides of each fuse, the light should illuminate on both sides of each fuse if it only lights on one side of the fuse then replace that one, if it's not a fuse then the problem is a little bit more involved and will take a little more time to diagnose.
