Toyota Repair: Check engine light on after I replaced starter on 95 Toyt. , Corolla ,1.6 L, jumper wire, diagnostic connector

Question
Hi Sir,
I replaced the starter, to do so I had to removed the the Air cleaner and hose unit to get behind there. Once I finish putting the starter and all the other part back together, I went to start the car and had difficulty starting it. The starter cranked good but car would not start right away. I had to keep cranking it for a good 5-10 minutes for it to start, plus the check engine light came on. It feels like when your out of gas. Once it starts I let it run for a while and then I have no problem starting it the rest of the day, but when I start it the next morning it does the same thing again. What do you think it is?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
See if you can get the trouble code from the computer for me, under the hood is the diagnostic connector, open the cover and find the terminals TE+E1 and put a jumper wire inbetween them, with the key on the echeck engine light will begin to blink, each code is two numbers, a code 41 would be four blinks followed by one, then a pause, it will either repeat or give another code if there are more.
