Toyota Repair: 1990 Toyota truck 22RE Fuel System., mass air flow sensor, air flow meter

Question
Installed new fuel pump and EFI relay located under hood.  No fire to fuel pump. Jumped fuel pump out. Fuel pump ran.  Checked wires to fuel pump. Wires OK.  Checked 7.5 fuse in kick panel.  Checked fuse under hood. Don't know what to check next? What turns on the fire to the fuel pump?  Does mass air flow sensor have anything to do with the fuel pump working? I know something is not telling the fuel pump to run BUT WHAT.  Thanks for any help you can give.  Gary

Answer
The air flow meter has a circuit in it to turn on the circuit opening relay which then turns on the fuel pump, on the air flow meter check the brown wire with an ohm meter to ground, it show continuity to ground, the green/ yellow wire goes to the circuit opening relay, when the contacts in the airflow meter close it will ground the coil in the relay and make the fuel pump run, so the problem may be an open ground at the brown wire or an open circuit between the green/yellow wire or most likely either the relay or the air flow meter, the relay is located on the right side under the glove box, the glove box needs to be removed to get to it.
