Toyota Repair: Front end noisey, front sway bar, connecting links

Question
Hello again Ted,I asked you about a noise infront end on my 99 Corolla. The noise is in right side going over uneven road syrface where the control arm is quickly up and down.I cannot duplicate noise simply bouncing car up and down stationary.I replaced front struts but the noise remains. My question is can the rubber and steel mounting pivots on lower control arm become dried out and noisey as the car gets older.120,000 miles on car.Runs excellent.I also have a check engine light on.If I disconnect battery it goes off for about 24 hours. If there was a problem would it not be noticebly by engine performance? Thanks Mark

Answer
Check the front sway bar connections, check the connecting links and make sure the nuts are tight. The check engine light may not affect driveability because most of the causes are emission control related, try to have the codes retreived and then get back to me if more help is needed.
