Toyota Repair: R lights up when Braking, false indicator, light bulbs

A few days a ago the indicator light came on that means there is a burned out bulb somewhere (like a brake light).  I have been unable to find which one.  However, more puzzling is the fact that the "R" dash indicator for reverse gear now comes on anytime I apply the brakes (even with the car completely off).  I suspect the false indicator and the "R" behavior are linked to the same problem.  Do you know what is going on?  (93 Camry LE 4cyl)

Check all of the rear bulbs and also the parking light bulbs, make sure the correct bulbs are installed, some have one contact and some have two, make sure they are not mixed up, check the sockets after the bulbs are removed, check the contacts inside the sockets, check the white/black ground wires and make sure they are tight, if nothing obvious can be found there may be wiring problem. Let me know.
