Toyota Repair: 02 Solara front driver wheel making weird noise, cv joints, ball bearings

Question
Our 02 Solara's front driver side wheel is making a strange noise.  About a week ago we took it in to get new tires.  Since then, the front wheel is making a strange noise while it rolls.  I jacked it up and spun the wheel to determine where it was coming from.  It looks like it is coming from the drive bar that stems off of the transmission.  Are there ball bearings somewhere that could be loose in there?  Because that is what it sounds like.   Thanks Ted.

Answer
A couple of possibilities, if the noise is a popping noise especially when turning and under acceleration then the problem may be the CV joints in which case the inner drive axle should be replaced, a grinding type of noise would indicate an axle bearing noise, the axle bearing and hub should be replaced in that case.
