Toyota Repair: 2002 Avalon, emission control system, oxygen sensor

Question
Over the weekend the VSC warning light and engine light will not go off after vehicle is started.  Plan on contacting Toyota dealer Mon for appointment to correct.  What do you think I'm looking at for a fix and approx cost?  Thanks, Jeff

Answer
In most cases the check engine light is the primary concern, the tra/vsc lights will turn on because of the check engine light, anytime the check engine light turns on the trac/vsc is disabled until the check engine light cause is corrected, the check engine light coming on is almost always emission control system related, the most common causes are oxygen sensor failures, fuel evaporator system leaks or engine misfires. Have it checked and if there is anything else I can help with let me know.
