Toyota Repair: changing brake pads on abs equipped 05 tundra, changing brake pads, retaining pins

Question
how do i change the front brake pads for my 2005 tundra that is equipped with abs system? is there special tool i need or is it best for me to bring it to the shop? thanks.

Answer
The brake pad replacement is not hard to do, just remove the retaining pins for the pads and then pull the pads out, you will have to devise a way to push the pistons of the brake caliper back in so the new pads will go in. The best way to do this is to just remove one of the pads and then push those pistons back in with a large screwdriver then install the new pad, after that do the same with the other pistons and install the other brake pad, hope this helps.
