Toyota Repair: 99 Toyota Tacoma, valve job, toyota tacoma

I have a 99 Tacoma 4cyl 4x4 with 133,000 miles on it. The check engine light is on, had it scanned and came back excessive egr and multiple cyl misfire. Replaced plugs,wires, cleaned egr best i could, engine runs rough at idle. After resetting runs better for a short time and light comes back on again.

There are two common problems with this engine, they tend to burn valves and the injectors are known to fail, the first thing I would recommend is having the engine compression tested, if the compression is good, identify the cylinder that is misfiring and replace that fuel injector, better yet, replace all of them to avoid future problems with the other injectors. If the compression readings are not good then the cylinder head has to be removed to have a valve job done.
