Toyota Repair: tempature gage, jumper wire, blown fuse

Question
My tempature gauge on my car stopped working nad i don't think my fan kicks when when i'm idleing whats the problem?

Answer
I am guessing by the info provided to me that your fan is electric. It sounds like the relay may be faulty. To test the fan itself, run a jumper wire to the fan motor directly from the battery. Does the fan operate? If so you most likely have a blown fuse or relay. If the fan does not spin, you have a bad fan, which may have caused a fuse to blow due to the voltage load. I would check all your fuses(under hood of car) I would also suggest you not  drive the car too much as it can lead to very costly engine repairs if it gets too hot. Refer to a local dealer for the exact location of the relay.
