Toyota Repair: 2004 Toyota Corolla dash compartment, plastic retainers, center vent

We need to remove the small compartment under the radio on the dash because something fell behind it.  My husband don't want to break it, is there an easy way to remove it?

Answer
Remove the cover around the shifter, it just pries out, pull off the center vent control knob, remove the screw under it, remove the two screws on the lower part of the cover, it then just pulls off,it's held on with plastic retainers. Use a thin bladed screwdriver that has been taped on the end to avoid scratching the panels to pry the panel off.
