Toyota Repair: need help with a 90 camry dx electrical issue, test bench, light indicator

hello I recently had my 90 camry dx die on me.  Replaced battery then alternator still won't charge the battery.  Tested new alternator and it is good.  I also have a charge light and a rear tail light indicator on in the instrument cluster.  could this be connected.  any help would be appreciated

No, they are not connected, the tail warning light is on because there is abulb burned out, either brake light or tail light or there is a wiring problem, check and replace the bulbs as needed. The charge/battery light is on because the alternator is not charging the battery, was the alternator done on a test bench or in the car under load because it may check good on a test bench but fail under actual load conditions that are used during an in car test which requires special test equipment.
