Toyota Repair: 1996 Avalon, transmission damage, vehicle speed

I have a 1996 Avalon, my question is if i down shift from drive to 2nd gear at 6o miles per hour, would this hurt the transmission, is there a clutch inside the automatic transmission, your answer is very helpful to me, many thanks

Doing so will only take the transmission out of overdrive but will not shift into second gear until the vehicle speed and the engine speed allow it to do so, no transmission damage is possible, there will be a slight increase in engine rpm until the car slows down and starts shifting down normally.
