Toyota Repair: Brake Rotor - crossed drilled & slotted, brake rotor, toyota camry

Question
In your opinion, would crossed drilled & slotted brake rotors improve braking performance for a 1995 Toyota Camry? If it is only nominal ... should I buy OEM rotors or are other brands just as good?

Answer
Tom,

I have had good success with cheap "white box" rotors. Most rotors are made of composite materials and can not be turned anymore so it is best to just replace them every brake job. I think I only paid $20 each for the last pair.

Vented & drilled rotors help if your doing constant braking by keeping the rotor cooler. Also, I suggest using a ceramic brake pad.  Price shop both rotors and decide if it is worth the extra money to you.
