Toyota Repair: cigerette lighter removal on 95 4runner, tire pump, 4runner

Question
I think I fried my lighter running a cig lighter tire pump. fuse is good and light comes on. I read about the brown wire frying in another post but I don't know how to get the unit out. I removed the dash cover below the lighter but it doesn't give access to the plug and I don't want to start prying and break the dash. How does this lighter come out so I can repair or replace it.

Ah man I hate those things! I forget. You don't have to take the entire dash off. I remember that much. Ask on www.yotatech.com
Tons of 4runner/truck owners on there with late 80's late 90's vehicles.

Yeah, might wanna run a dedicated fused & up-wired cig lighter up under the dash to use as a power port.

The fuseabile link behind it & the wiring is pretty bad to blow too.
