Toyota Repair: No go, air flow meter, fuel pump relay

Question
Hey, I checked the inside of the distributor, and there was moisture. What does tham mean? Also, I thought that the fuse I replaced was the circuit opening relay. It was on top of the passenger side fender.  Is there another one under the dash that I should look at?

-----Question-----
I own a 1993 Toyota pickup 4x4 with standard cab and the 22re fuel injected motor. I was driving one day, and suddenly hit a pot hole, and then all of a sudden I was no longer getting gas to the engine. It was idling funny before it happened, even after I replaced the broken o2 sensor. After it broke down, I tested the fuel pump, and it was a very weak one. So I replaced it. Still no start. I tested the EFI main relay, and It was out as well. But even after replacing both of those, it gets started but only runs for a second or two, then it dies again. I am at a loss and I have no clue what is wrong with it.

Matt,

First off have you checked inside the distributor cap for moisture?  Second I would check the fuel pump relay. Toyota calls it a "circuit opening relay". It is green with 5 wires and located under the passenger side of the dash. It uses 2 seperate circuits to run the fuel pump. The first is connected to the starter circuit and only has power when cranking.

The second circuit is controlled by the air flow meter. If the meter doesn't open the pump won't run.

Answer
Matt,

The moisture in your distributor cap means that puddle you hit got water into the cap. It causes the spark to short out and not fire the spark plugs. It should be sealed so I suggest replacing the cap. You can dry it out first and see if the truck will start and run normally.

The circuit opening relay is under the dash, not on the fender so I am not sure what you replaced. I would dry that cap out first and see what it does. Also, check that the air filter is not wet restricting air flow into the engine.
