Toyota Repair: Check Engine, VSC TRAC & VSC OFF Light, moderate ability, engine stall

Question
I have a 2001 4Runner w/ 82,500 miles my Check Engine, VSC TRAC & VSC OFF Light all came on together and stay on.  I recently had the timing belt and water pump changed (2 weeks / 500 miles ago) The book says to take the vehicle to the dealer. I hate to do that since the only time it has been there is to have the timing belt and water pump replaced and now I have this problem.  Any suggestions, I have a moderate ability to work on cars/ trucks. - Kevin

Answer
Youll need to get the engine ecu "scanned"for a code.
You can usually get it done at a parts store for free.
They do it in hopes youll buy parts there.

The Trac and VSC just shut off as a precaution. They use the engine ecu when the control the traction of the vehicle, so if they see a check engine light on, they follow suit to avoid an engine stall.

Get me the code , then we can proceed.
