Toyota Repair: 94 Toyota Camry, upper intake manifold, toyota camry

Question
We are considering buying a 94 Toyota Camry for my son. We were told it needs valve cover caskets and that the engine will need to be lifted in order to replace the rear gasket (not sure the person who said this is an expert).  Is this true ?

Answer
Ed,

If it is a 4 cylinder Camry the valve cover is very easy to replace. If it is the 6 cylinder Camry you must remove the upper intake manifold to access the rear valve cover. In no case does the engine need to be lifted.

Camry's are great cars and you should enjoy it for a long time.
