Toyota Repair: 97 rav4, air control valve, engine stalls

Question
the engine stalls on my 1997 rav4 intermittently after warm up. tech a says intermittent high resistance at pin 9 of connector e5 could be the cause. tech b says intermittent open at pin 3 of connector m1 could be the cause. whos right a, b, both, neither?

Answer
Almost all stalling or hard start conditions are caused by a sticking idle air control valve, this is a chronic condition on Rav-4s, camrys and a few other models, the best advise I have is to have the IAC valve replaced and at the same time the throttle body should also be cleaned, in most cases this takes care of the problem. So the answer to the above question would be: Neither.
