Toyota Repair: 4 Runner Electrical Problem, blown fuse, shift lock

Question
I have a 90 model v6 4wd automatic 4 Runner. I just had to replace the battery last week, and 2 days later it just died on the way to work. I replaced the anternator, but it will not charge. I know the alternator is good and the batery too. Maybe the ignition switch? It will not turn to the off position without first taking loose either battery cable. Once the cable is taken off (the power removed) the switch will release the key. It will not hold a charge for more than a few miles and will not release the key. PLEASE HELP!!

Answer
Sounds like you have a shift lock problem.
It may be a blown fuse.
The fuse may also be part of the charging circuit,
Check all the fuses under hood and under the dash.
The IGN 7.5A, CHARGE 7.5A and ENGINE 10A, fuses are for the charging system.
CIG 15a STOP15a GAUGE10a fuses are for the shift lock.
