Toyota Repair: No power through ignition, toyota camery, horn blows

Question
I have a 1991 toyota camery 4cylinder. I just replaced the altnernator. Went to jump car off and I get nothing when I turn the ignition. No dash lights, nothing that works when you switch the ignition to the on position.  Headlights turn on horn blows hazards flash but nothing from the ignition. I've checked all the fuses under the dash and under hood, I also replaced the main engine relay. When I was reconnecting the wires back to the alternator I did get a little spark because the battery was still connected. I have own the car for 2 years and never had a problem with starting. Do you think the spark on reconnection damage something else without blowing a fuse? Is there like a reset button or something?

Answer
You didn't hurt anything. That' only happens with old American & Gemeran engines. :P
Check that there is power flowing to the ignition switch, and that the switch itself works & passes said power out.

The entire factory repair manual for that Camry is on www.ToyotaNation.com if you register & look around.
