Toyota Repair: 1989 camery, radiator shop, mileage cars

Question
My mom bought me an 89' camery for $1400,I've had it 7 months and it now has over 200,000 miles on it. I had the alternator replaced and also the ignition switch. month later...I have to turn the key several times before car will turn over (the reason for getting a new ignition switch) afraid at any time car not going to start up.FIRST Q--what else is the cause? My radiator has a crack in it smokes after been driving 30 mins, but gage doesnt register hot-coolant in the reserve.SECOND Q--can I just seal the crack? THIRD Q--should i put any more $ into this car?

Answer
When the key is turned and it doesn't start is there a clicking noise? If so the starter is the problem and needs to be replaced. The radiator needs to be replaced or see a radiator shop to see if it can be repaired. Keep in mind that older/high mileage cars will develop problems, the initial investment of $1,400 sounds like a good deal so I would put a few dollars into it but if it becomes a money pit needing major work it may not be worth it. Take care of the radiator so it won't eventually overheat and cause engine damge.
