Toyota Repair: upshift problem, transmission failure, transmission problem

I have  a 1994 4runner  V-6 automatic 204,000kms suddenly it won't up shift to high gear lock up , if I lightly touch the brake pedal  it will up shift all the way  , any idea's ?

It sounds like it is not upshifting into overdrive, this is an indication of an imminent transmission problem and at this mileage this should be no surprise, my 1990 4-Runner did the same thing and I have heard of other cases where eventually the transmission had to be replaced, I finally got rid of the 4-Runner because I didn't want to put any more money into it and did not want to deal with transmission failure somewhere.
