Toyota Repair: 1999 Camry Engine knocking @132k miles, mileage engine, connecting rods

Question
This knocking sounds like it is coming from the middle to the bottom of the engine, the engine runs smooth, but, the knocking is Very loud.
the mechanic at the dealership says it needs another engine and wanted a chunk of cash to tear it apart to tell me exactly what he thought the noise was.
With the valve cover off it sprays oil all over the windshield so it's pumping oil.

Answer
Any loud knocking noise from an engine is always bad news and it sounds like it may be coming from the crankshaft or connecting rods, the most economical way to solve this may be to just try to find a used low mileage engine from one of the many engine supply companies, rebuilding or repairing the engine will probably cost a lot more than a used engine.
