Toyota Repair: Toyota Melted Coil Pack, defective coil, coil pack

Question
I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma V6 and yesterday had misfire problems, when I arrived home I saw that one of the Coil Packs had melted, and a small amount of oil had sprayed from the spark plug tub. The spark plug is still properly seated. Beyond the defective coil pack does this indicate any other serious problems? Is it safe to drive the vehicle 15 miles to a mechanic?

Thanks

Answer
The oil is probably due to a spark plug tube seal leaking in the valve cover, it can be fixed by removing the valve cover and replacing the saels.  If the engine misfire is severe enough, such as one cylinder completely dead, it can cause catalityc converter damage, is is posible for you to buy a coil pack from the dealer and install it yourself, then drive it to have the oil leak fixed?
