Toyota Repair: 1994 toyota camry LE 4 cyl (non Ca.), toyota camry, pickup coil

Question
Car will crank but not start (or fire). It happened suddenly, overnight. There is no spark at the plugs. The rotor rotates while cranking and has been replaced, as has the cap..There is voltage going from the ignition into the distributor but nothing coming out at the cap..When the old cap was removed there was a few drops of oil on the inside of the cap, puddled at the bottom ..Wires to inner coil look good and clean and no oil is seen inside distribitor itself that I can tell, but I have not yet removed it from the car..Car has over 200,000 miles on it..Can you please give me some suggestions on how to proceed and what I should look for..thanks for you help

Answer
There are two kind of common problems, one is that the ignition coil in the distributor will have either a crack or a leak where it can jump to ground, inspect the coil carefully for this, remove the rotor and the coil cover and check the epoxy filled area and the underside of the coil.  The other is that there is a signal generator or rpm signal pickup coil problem with the distributor in which case the distributor needs to be replaced.
