Toyota Repair: 2002 corolla valve lifter, valve lifter, toyota corolla

Hi I just starting hearing a clicking noise on the passenger side of the engine in my 2002 toyota corolla. It 1.8L 16 valve. The noise speeds up as the car does. A mecanic said it could be a collapsed valve. How difficult is that to fix and how long can I drive the car?

Well since I cant hear it, I have to assume its in the valve train as your mechanis suggested.
If it is a valve youll need to have the cylinder haed taken off to repair it.
Not a do it yourself job for the novice.
Youll need to fix it asap to avoid other engine damage.
