Toyota Repair: Previa, rear differential, 1992 toyota previa

Question
I have a 1992 Toyota Previa Van.  Unfortunately, the rear differential is bad.  It
also needs a new water pump and a front wheel bearing.  I love this car and
the body is in pretty good shape, but it has almost 200,000 miles on it.  A
couple of mechanics I have spoken with have told me it would be over $2000
to fix even with used parts.  Does that sound about right and is it worth it?  If
not, should I junk it or could I get anything for it?  Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

John

Answer
The van is at the stage where the maintenance will be expensive and more frequent, but I have seen numerous vans with 300K miles that run well.
Its really your call.
I dont know what your budget is but if youve changed the oil and coolant on schedule, chances are youll recoup the 2000 spent on it if you keep it.
Problem is it isnt worth much if you sell it because it needs work and if you spend 2K on it, you might only get 2K for it.
