Ted since you were not able to send the diagram to my e-mail address, can you send it as an answer to my question and attach the diagram? If not do you know any really good books for this car that show step by step how to remove the timing belt and the water pump?
Thanks,

Question -
Sorry I forgot to write the first time I sent a responce to you.
I have gotten the car started and now the water pump is bad and I am trying to get the timing belt cover off. I have it loose but can't get it off. What all do I need to do to get the timing belt cover off? Also do I have to take the exhaust manifold heat sheild off the take the by-pass water pipe off?
Thanks for your help.

Question -
This car just quit running about a year ago. It would turn over but wouldn't start. I have replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap and the distributor.
I am not sure if I have the firing order right and if the distributor is set right. Also now that I have done all of this it will turn over but still want start. What else could be wrong? And what is the corret firing order for this car? Also does this car have a timing belt or chain?
Any help you can give me on how to get this car running again will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Karen

Answer -
It's very possible that it has a broken timing belt or the belt jumped on the gears, remove the distributor cap and see if the rotor turns when the engine is cranked over, if not the belt is the problem. The firing order is 1342.

Answer -
Is it a 4 cylinder or V-6 engine?

Answer -
If you can give me an email address I can send an illustration to you that shows how to remove the timing cover and the belt/water pump etc.

Answer -
Hi, I just tried to email some information to you at the email address you gave me but I got an error message that the address is not valid, can you check the address or give me another one?

Answer -
I'm still having problems posting to your mailbox, keep getting Daemon Mailer error messages from Yahoo, I tried both email addresses with no success.

Answer
Try an autoparts store, sometimes they have small manuals for specific cars, another idea would be to go to the toyota dealer and buy the timing belt from the parts department, ask them to print the illustration for the belt off their computer. As a last resort you can give me your home address and I can copy the material and mail it to you via regular mail, I can't attach anything here, if so please respond directly to tedrttr@yahoo.com with the information.
