Toyota Repair: Toyota paseo shifting stuck at, toyota paseo, shift lock

Question
I have toyota paseo 1994, I parked it at my garage then I tried to drive it again but the gear is stuck on Parking no shifting, I tried alot pressing breaks and pressing button on gear stick but not moving to D OR N .I recently change the viper stick switch and cruise control stick, and after opening hood there was a burning smell.. Please help me with this issue.

The reason for this is that there are some fuses blown, the burning smell may indicate some wires are burned, was the battery jump started from another battery?
Does the engine crank over but not start up?
If the engine starts and runs you can use the shift lock override button to get it out of park, remove the small plastic cover just in front of the shifter, push the release button inside and the shifter can be moved, this will let you drive the car to a repair place.
