Toyota Repair: Brake Light on 1988 Camry, 1988 toyota camry, toyota camry

Question
I have a 1988 Toyota Camry LE 4 cyl. When the headlights are turned off, both of the brake lights function properly when the brakes are applied. When the headlights are turned on and the brakes are applied, the whole left brake/tail light goes dark, but the right side works properly. I've tried replacing the bulb (with 2 different known good bulbs), and I've looked for a fuse that may need to be replaced but I haven't found anything.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Answer
Its definately a ground problem.
3 things ive seen-

1. Check the harness at the left trunk hinge, seen that pinched in the hinge.

2. Check the third brake light bulb and socket, seen them nelted.

3. check the ground wire at the left rear tail lights. white/black wire.Ive seen the wire loose and melted.
