Toyota Repair: 2000 Toyota Camry AC Compressor, toyota camry, metal contamination

Question
Today the AC system finally went out on my Camry. Two months ago the Serpentine belt was replaced and soon after the squealing noises came when the AC was on. I had the belts adjusted and today they blew off and the pulley has also come apart. Is this due to a bad AC compressor? What is your recommendation to additional parts and services once the part is installed? Also, the Check engine light is on and the diagnostics check said Cam position sensor- EGR INSUFF CODE. When I turn the engine on smoke is emitted from the exhaust. Whitish in color and after a few minutes it stops. What does this mean and what should be done to make repairs? Please advise.

Answer
The a/c compressor is seized, when this happens there could be metal contamination in the system from the compressor rotor, at minimum the compressor and clutch and the receiver drier should be replaced, when the system is open low pressure air should be used to blow through the lines to see how bed the metal particles have contaminated the system, if there is a lot of metal the evaporator should be removed and cleanes out and the expansion valve replaced. Can you let me know what the trouble codes were, I need the numbers of the codes.
