My 1988 MR2 sc car with 100K starts and runs fine until I shut it off. I can immediatly start it up-within a minute or two and it starts but shut it off longer than this and forget about it .It smells as if it is flooding and will not start until car is cool. No engine light,no code.

Answer -
are there any codes in the ecu?

Answer
you may have injectors bleeding down into the motor when you shut it off.
Hook up a fuel gauge and note the pressure when shutting off. It shouldnt drop. check again in 1/2 hour. If the pressure falls off youll have to find the injector thats bad.
Pull the plugs out, disconnect dist. and crank. The cyl full of fuel should be puff out fuel vapor out the plug hole.
