Toyota Repair: Power SLiding door on 2002 Sienna, air ducting, sliding door

Question
Hi Ted,

We recently bought a used 2002 Sienna with less than 40K miles.  Not long after we got it, the power sliding door began to act up.  Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't.  My husband, who's very mechanical, followed the handbook instructions to restart the door.  It didn't help.  We now just turned the power door off and use it manually.
Is this a repair that my husband can do?  If so, please help:-)

Thank you,
Sandra

Answer
In almost all cases of the sliding door malfunctions the door control computer is the problem, it's located inside the rear paneling and a little difficult to get to, the sliding door motor has to be loosened and some air ducting in order to get the computer out.
