Toyota Repair: check engine light, metal particles, cylinder problem

Question
when I had my check engine light checked they said that it was caused by a shift cylinder problem? I took it to the dealership and they said to get my transmission fluid flushed? I just had this done about a year ago. It is a 1999 Camry CE with 162000 miles. I've been that reading a lot of people are having problems with their transmissions and wasn't sure if that is what is awaiting me? Thanks for your help!
Christine

Answer
Without knowing the diagnostic trouble codes I can't be of much help, can you let me know what the codes were.
Camrys have had some transmission problems and flushing the fluid may be a waste of money, I would recommend having the transmission oil pan removed and check to see if there are any metal particles in the oil pan, if there are, transmission failure is imminent.
