Toyota Repair: Door sensor trigger, dome light, warning light

Question
Hello Ted,
I think I have a problem with my door sensor triggers on my 2002 Corolla CE. My door ajar light is not working properly (it is not blown, i tested it) and the RED/WHITE wire to it is always +12V no matter which door is opened (which shouldn't be, it should be 0V when a door is opened). My door triggers should be working because my chime warning sound works as well as my dome light flawlessly. I tried to look at some schematics and diagrams as suggested by another technician here - Mike but didn't really understood them and since i saw you were an expert in electrical systems i decided to ask you if you could tell me what might be wrong and if you know what is the path of that RED/WHITE wire. Does it go through fuses or relays that might be blown, or what is the situation.

Answer
I'm not sure what you mean by "my door ajar light is not working properly" what is wrong with it? Does it stay on, flicker, or never come on?
All of the red/white wires have 12volts applied  to them all the time, when the door is opened the ground circuit is completed to turn the dome light on, if the door remains open with the engine running the door warning light remains on,this is a function of the integration relay, check the door switches one of them may be shorted to ground causing the warning light to remain on and at the same time the dome light should also stay on if it is on the "door" setting.
