Toyota Repair: ignition electrical problem, fuse block, head gaskets

Question
Hello, I have a 95 4runner, v6, 4WD, 3VZE engine.  I recently replaced the head gaskets on my vehicle and when I finally got it all together I could not get a spark.  I rechecked to ensure the timing on everything was correct, I checked the ohms reading on the distributer, checked for power at the igniter, the starter coil, and the ECM.  All are good except for the spark to the distributer.  I have all new plugs and wires, I swapped out to the old ones to ensure compatability and still nothing.  Here in Fairbanks it is difficult to find anyone that can do a diagnostic on just the parts, the toyota/subaru dealership can only check with the parts on the vehicle but it is too far for me to drive.  Can you help?  Thanks in advance,
James

Answer
First check for a "check engine" light on the dash with the key on.If its not lit, the EFI fuse is blown.
Next switch the engine main relay with another , same part #, in the fuse block.
The coils go bad, look for purple arcing marks on the side of it.
If it happened right after the HG replacement, start simple. May be something you accidentaly left unplugged.
