Toyota Repair: I want to access unswitched 12 VDC for continuous 12 V power to XM Radio unit, toyota camray, power souce

2001 Toyota Camray XLE 12 VDC power to Dash Panel and console lighter/plug-in sockets cuts off when ignition key switched is turned off.  Where is best way to connect to  continuous 12 V power souce (still should be fused).  

My XM radio tuner is portable and uses the lighter/power plug as power source.  I will probably have to use the lighter power plug provided becauseit drops the 12 VDC source to 6 VDC for the unit.  Perhaps I should just reroute a unswitched power source to one of the two 12 V source sockets in the car for continuous power.

You could connect directly to the positive side of the battery and then connect the other end to the power socket with an inline fuse, check the specs of the XM unit to see what the current draw is and use an appropriate fuse, what you need is available at any electronics store.
