Toyota Repair: 2000 Toyota Corolla Accelleration, toyota corolla, accellerated

Question
My sons corolla has no trouble starting, but when you accellerate it stubles. He has tried it in drive, reverse, and in low (1). It also stubles when you go to pass it's only on acceleration. I have been told possible the TPS may be it so we checked the ohm values. On the connection position
1-2= 358 ohms-normal
1-2= 2453 ohm- full accellerated
2-3=2568 ohms does not respond to movement
I am also thinking fuel pump, but hope that is not it (big job).
Any help you could provide would be heplful
Rick

Answer
A malfuntioning tps would turn the check engine light on so I don't think that's the case, a fuel pump problem would also be very rare.
Remove the cover on top of the engine and remove the coil packs, check them for any burned through spots or water/rust in the spark plug tubes and remove the spark plugs for inspection.
