Toyota Repair: 1992 Toyota pickup, vacuum hoses, air tubes

Question
Hi there I have a 1992 Toyota pickup and yesterday the truck started ideling funny. When i stop and the engine is running the idle is droping and rising, over and over and over from around 1000 to 1500 rpms. The truck has about 130,000 miles on it. The truck has a manual transmission. I hope that you might be able to lead me in the right direction. thanks for your time and any help in this matter take care and have a nice day. jack

Answer
Erratic idle conditions are almost always caused by an intake air leak.
The most common causes are a leak between the air cleaner and the throttle body in the intake air tubes, another place to look is for any vacuum hoses that may be disconnected that would create a leak.
