Toyota Repair: 1984 Pickup, locking gas cap, 22r engine

Question
Hi,

I have a 1984 Toyota Pickup with a 22R engine, rear wheel drive, and over 130,450 miles.  I have a squeak in the rear driver side wheel area.  I have gone through and checked/greased the shocks and bits attaching to them.  I have even greased the chain for the spare tire and the squeak is still there.  It only happens as I'm accelerating at a low speed (below 25 MPH) and then it goes away at higher speeds. It has been suggested that it is the bearings possibly going out, but it doesn't do the shimmy/jerk/vibrate at all.  As far as I know there hasn't been any work on that type of problem before.  I know that the shocks were replaced about four years ago.  Though the tail pipe is currently rusted through.  Last time the tail pipe was replaced was 1992, and when that was done there wasn't any squeaking at the time.  I am at a complete loss and would appreciate any insight at all.

Secondly, at our apartments, someone has been siphoning our gas somehow getting through the locking gas cap.  As I was under the car I noticed that the bolt at the bottom of the tank had been disturbed.  There were recent tool marks, etc.  Is that going to compromise my tank at all, and is there any way that I can secure it so that the siphoning can stop?

Thank you for your time,

Noelanni

Answer
spray lube between the leavesprings and around the shackle.

Sad to say but - Let them have the gas.
Maybe see if you can catch them.
If you do anything to stop them take the bolt out , they may drill it or pop a hole in the tank.

Easiest thing to do it catch them.
