Questionmy car , when i try to start it, it just clicks sometimes once then it starts sometimes alot then it starts. i cleaned the connections but that doesnt help. is it the starter? i cant even find the thing.
AnswerIf its a rapid succession of clicks its the battery.
If it gives one loud click, youll need a starter.
Its under the intake near the firewall.
If your mechanically inclined. disconnect the battery, take it out and rebuild it. It probably only needs the contacts in it. Available as a kit from the toyota dealer for way less than a starter.Look at the new parts you get in the kit. Pretty self explaintary at that point.
If your not, have the starter replaced.
