Toyota Repair: Replacing the Left (Drivers Side) Axle assy., mail thanks, ball joints

Question
I have a 1993 Tercel, and I need to replace the left side driver's axle. I does not look to bad, but could you tell me how to proceed. I know I have to remove the brake assy, remove the axle nut. Do I need to remove ball joints? Does the axle just pull out? Thanks for the help. Could you forward the answer to my e-mail. Thanks.

Answer
take the lower control arm bolts out. Swing the strut out of the way and pull the axle out of the hub. May need to lube and hit the axle with a PLASTIC dead blow hammer.

Then from under the car hit the flange of the inner cvjoint and it should pop out. Make sure the car is securely supported. If you raise the left side of the car higher then the left then you will prevent the trans oil from running out the hole.
Good idea to change the axle seal while its out.
When you reinstall, make sure the c clip on the end of the axle has the open part of the "C" facing down. That will help the clip receed to allow the axle to go back in easier.
I would have forwarded to your email, but you didnt give it to me !
